HIS 3307 Medieval Europe I
Beginning with the decline of the Roman Empire and the rise of the Germanic successor states, the course surveys the development of medieval western civilization through the tenth century. Topics include the expansion of Christianity, the Byzantine state, the Carolingian systems, the Viking invasions, the rise of Feudalism, and the Ottonian age.
