4+1 in Politics
Braniff’s 4+1 program allows Politics majors to continue their studies, earning a B.A. and an M.A. in a shorter period of time. Up to four approved graduate courses taken during senior year may count toward the M.A.
Interested students should contact their undergraduate advisor and the Graduate Director of Politics by the spring semester of their junior year for more information.

Senior Year Options
- Up to four graduate courses (12 credit hours) beyond the requirements for the bachelor’s degree with final grades of B or higher
- 3000-level foreign language course with a final grade of B or higher
Master of Arts in Politics
- Comprehensive examination
- Thesis, 6 credit hours
- 24 additional credit hours, minus approved graduate credits taken during senior year.
