Applied Music (1000 level) 6 credits
- 2 semesters of applied organ (see piano proficiency requirement) (MUS 1108)
- 2 semesters of applied voice (MUS 1116)
- 2 semesters of UD Chorale (MUS 1113)
- 2 semesters of supervised Sacred Music Practicum at the Church of the Incarnation, planned with the student, Campus Ministry and the Music Department Director. (Zero credit)
In addition to these courses, the Sacred Music Concentration requires piano proficiency, which will be determined through a playing demonstration heard by the Music Department director and piano faculty. If the student has no prior piano experience, then 2 semesters of beginning piano (MUS 1107) are required before taking applied organ lessons. Assessment/evaluation of piano skills should take place as soon as possible after the student has decided to pursue the Sacred Music Concentration.
