MEDH 5340 Visual Arts, Health, and Healing
In this course, students will examine the relationship between visual arts, health, and healing, from the perspective of the artwork and the artist. Historically, visual arts have served to chronicle epidemics and common maladies. Artworks can also be analyzed to explore societal responses to health and illness. While the focus of the course will be on how health and healing is represented through art, some time will be dedicated to art as therapy.
