4+1 in Theology
Braniff’s 4+1 program allows for an expedited graduate degree in Theology. Undergrads may apply up to 12 credits of graduate level Theology towards the M.A. or M.Th., provided that these credits are beyond the requirements for Theology Majors (if applicant is a Theology major) and also beyond the 120 credits for an undergraduate degree, with final grades of B and higher.
Ideally, interested students should contact their undergraduate advisor and the Theology graduate director during the spring semester of their junior year.

Junior and Senior Year Options
- Up to four graduate courses (12 credit hours) beyond the requirements for the major and beyond the 120 credits for the undergraduate degree with final grades of B or higher
- Master of Arts only: 3000-level language course in Greek, Latin, French or German with a final grade of B or higher
Master of Theology
- Comprehensive examination
- 30 credit hours, minus approved graduate credits taken during junior or senior year
Master of Arts in Theology
- Comprehensive examination
- Thesis, 6 credit hours
- 24 additional credit hours, minus approved graduate credits taken during junior or senior year
