HIS 3324 History of France II

Modern French history begins with the French Revolution, yet much of the old regime persisted well into the nineteenth century. This course studies the repeated attempts, from Napoleon I and the First Empire to the socialist government of François Mitterand, to realize the legacy of the French Revolution and to complete the construction of a new social and political regime.
