HIS 3314 Modern Europe II
Covering the period from the Congress of Vienna to the present, the course focuses on the history of classical Western Liberalismâ€"the difficulty with which it was institutionalized in the nineteenth century and the challenges which it faced from the growth of the welfare state and the rise of totalitarianism in the twentieth century.
