EDU 3325 Mathematic Concepts for Teachers

Several questions provide the focus for this course: What is mathematics? What mathematics is taught? How do children best learn mathematics? How does one plan and evaluate mathematics instruction? Content addressed includes problem solving; numeration; concepts and operations on whole numbers, rational numbers (fractions and decimals); algebraic reasoning; number theory; data analysis; measurement (English and metric); and geometric concepts.  Students are required to be concurrently enrolled in EDU 3101.
