HIS 3310 The Renaissance
Between 1300 and 1517, great changes in European life were brought about by the Black Death, the Babylonian Captivity of the papacy, the activities of merchant venturers, the rise of the new state and the thought of nominalists and the humanists of the Italian Renaissance. The course studies the effect of these events and movements on the political, ecclesiastical, social and intellectual life, as well as on the art and architecture of the time.
