PSY 4348 Senior Thesis

Building on PSY 3339, this course develops the students' grasp of the theory and practice of a phenomenologically based psychology. Lectures and reading assignments introduce students to primary source philosophical literature in the phenomenological and hermeneutic traditions. Class sessions following a workshop approach take students through the steps of empirical-phenomenological research, with students engaging in phenomenological data analysis following from the Research Proposal written in PSY 3339. The student’s development of a formal Senior Thesis (presented in APA format) is the culminating work of this course that serves as the comprehensive examination in psychology.
