PSY 3V71 Film Studies

Exploration of various aspects of film and the film experience, including the history, aesthetics, psychology and politics of film, as well as film criticism. Principles of composition, montage, narrativity, representation and cinematic point-of-view are examined through classroom viewings of genre, art, experimental and documentary films. This course often has a special theme that serves to focus the selection of films shown in class, Students keep a journal which serves as a basis for a term paper.
