PSY 3330 History Of Psychology

Study of the history and genealogy of psychology, as a science in the broad sense, as a set of practices and as institutions in the modern world. The relationships between these contemporary disciplines and earlier ways of grasping human nature are developed, without assuming that what we call psychology existed in the past. The focus of this course is on the pivotal period from the middle of the nineteenth century to the middle of the twentieth century, and it places special emphasis on the multiple traditions in psychology.
