POL 3362 20th Century American Politics and Policy

Examines the impact of progressivism on twentieth century domestic policy making, focusing upon the movement away from the founding generation's conception of limited government in favor of a far more extensive conception of state power. Some attention will be paid to the philosophic roots of this change, but the main focus will be on the implementation of this change in practice during the Progressive Era, the New Deal the Great Society and beyond.
