Studies in a distinguished but relatively unexplored family of literary works focusing upon Rabelais, Cervantes, Swift, Sterne, Byron, Lewis Carroll, Joyce, John Barth. Emphasis upon the preponderance in these works of authorial digression over the more usual emphasis of fiction upon human character and action.
