About Course Credit for Internships

Students have the opportunity to earn course credit for interning by enrolling in 3V57 Internship.

This course requires students to reflect upon their work or internship experience in relation to their education at UD in order to help them become more valuable contributors in their chosen field. Students may earn General Studies (GST), Business (BUS), or major-specific credit (requires permission from the chair of the appropriate academic department). In order to be eligible to receive credit, students must be of at least sophomore standing and should have achieved at least a 2.5 cumulative grade point average.

Students will earn credit based on the 1) documentation of their internship experience, observations, and results, 2) number of hours worked, and 3) satisfactory evaluation from their supervisor. The student must have already secured an approved opportunity which can be evaluated by measurable outcomes, wherein the student will be supervised by an employee of the organization. Students must be working during the semester term in order to qualify to receive course credit. Retroactive credit for past work experiences is not awarded. When internship credit is pursued during the summer term, a $100 transcripting and supervisory fee is charged. Graded Pass/No Pass.
