JRN 3320 Principles of Journalism

This course introduces students to the basic elements of journalistic writing and the structure of a newspaper. Some of the most important topics covered include verifying information and FOIA requests, interviewing, newswriting, opinion writing, copy editing, and headline writing. As part of the course, students will have the opportunity to work with members of The Cor Chronicle staff to write for a variety of sections and obtain experience in layout design.
