BUS 4V52 ST/Data Storytelling

Provides students the opportunity to develop an understanding of and practical skills in data visualization (the transformation of quantitative data into graphical information) which is used in a wide variety of disciplines to transform data (big and small) into effective decision making through the powerful medium of telling stories with data. Creating and communicating data visualizations and being able to craft data stories is key to data literacy and quickly becoming a requirement for anyone in business, the sciences or public policy. This hands-on course will cover the fundamentals of effective data-driven storytelling and students will learn through applying principles and practices of data visualization to topics relevant to their interests.
