BIO 3318 Plant Biology

A study of the origins, evolution, anatomy and function of land plants. Cell formation by apical and lateral meristems, cell differentiation and the anatomy of monocot and dicot stems, roots and leaves is described. Aspects of higher plant physiology such as photosynthesis, water relations, solute uptake, nitrogen metabolism, reproduction and responses to environmental stimuli are also discussed.  Formerly BIO 2341.
