Master of Catechetical Ministry

Degree Requirements

Catechesis is more than simple instruction on the content of the faith; it encompasses both evangelization and ongoing faith formation which are integral to the Christian life. As such, catechesis is pertinent to any element of ministry. The master’s degree and graduate certificate in catechetical ministry are designed for those who are looking for parish and diocesan positions such as: Director of Adult Formation, Director of Children’s Formation (Parish Catechetical Leader), or Director of RCIA. The degree combines theological and pastoral knowledge with practical application of catechetical principles and methods.

The Master of Catechetical Ministry requires:

  1. 21 credits of core courses
  2. 12 credits in ministry specific courses
  3. 3 credits in an elective

In addition to the Core Courses, students are required to take an elective and the following courses:
