PSY 6355 Psychopathology
A critical analysis of the classificatory systems of mental illness, including the current Diagostic and Statistical Manual of Mental disorders, is conducted as well as an examination of the philosophical roots of the construct abnormality. Current empirical evidence and hypotheses regarding etiology of mental illness and the treatment of psychopathological behavior are reviewed. Psychopharmacological approaches that correspond to DSM diagnoses are also discussed.
