POL 1311 Principles Of American Politics

A study of the basic principles of the American political order and their implications for current political practice, viewed in the light of alternative views of justice and human nature. Readings include the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, The Federalist, other original documents from the founding era and later, Tocqueville’s Democracy in America and contemporary writings.
