In addition a 3-credit internship is required of all students completing the concentration. This internship will place students in selected healthcare settings supervised by experienced mentors involved in direct patient care or the management of patient care. Students will be exposed to day-to-day managerial functions of the organization and should participate in actual applied projects as part of the internship, rather than shadowing or observing in a healthcare setting. In the internship students should draw upon, synthesize, and apply classroom learning to real life settings in these actual healthcare environments. The internship should allow students to explore the culture, ethical issues and community impact of the organization. A student may register for either GST 3V57, BIO 3V57, or BUS 3V57 in order to receive credit for the internship.
